After 3 straight defeats Beechwood made the trip round the bypass to face Bonnyrigg Rose. The match kicked off and Beechwood looked to impose themselves on their much larger opponents, they were showing the aggression that has been missing in the last few matches and went 1-0 up in 7 minutes when after good lead up play, Harry wrong footed two defenders on the edge of the box before firing high into the net. Beechwood continued to press forward looking to increase their lead but it was to be Rose who got the next goal when slack play in the Beechwood midfield and a lack of desire to win the ball back allowed Rose to play a ball through the Beechwood defence giving their striker the easy job of rounding Calum to equalise against the run of play. Beechwood got their noses in front again on 20 minutes when after a strong run up the left wing Jamie M fed the ball back to Harry who passed across the box to Ibn who made a run into the box however he ran into a wall of defenders and passed back to Kenny on the edge of the box and he lofted the ball over the keeper to make it 2-1 to Beechwood. Rose scored immediately from the kick off as a mix up at the edge of the Beechwood box allowed the ball to break to the Rose striker who was left with an easy pass into the unguarded net, from the kick off Beechwood were again under pressure when a miskick by Calum landed at the feet of a Rose forward however on this occasion the ball went just wide of the post. Beechwood were still putting the Rose defence under pressure and it was now their turn to gift a goal as on 26 minutes Jamie M latched onto a free ball from a Rose defensive mistake to shoot into the net to edge Beechwood ahead 3-2, Beechwood came close again on 32 minutes as following a good spell of passing play between Euan and Jamie M, Jamie let fly with a LEFT foot shot that shaved the post, this only delayed the inevitable as from the resulting goal kick Kenny picked the ball up and fed Jamie M who ran in and scored his second of the evening to make the half time score 4-2 to Beechwood.

The second half started slowly with both sides looking to cut out the mistakes of the first half, Beechwood were still the better team and having won the ball in midfield passed to the edge of the box where Hamsa fed Jamie M who fired in a low shot that the Rose keeper got down well to turn round the post for a corner. Beechwood went further ahead when Ross won a ball just inside his own half and drove down the left leaving defenders in his wake, as he drove into the box everyone expected Ross to shoot however he sent a lovely ball across the goal leaving Jamie M with an easy chip over the despairing tackle of a defender for his hat trick, Beechwood were now coasting and Rose were being restricted to the odd attack, Beechwood began to make changes giving their replacements a run out, this nearly proved costly as weak tackling in midfield allowed Rose to score and with their tails now up began to run at the Beechwood defence sensing that they might get something out of the match, again a Beechwood mistake led to Rose edging even closer when a poor kick out was lost on the edge of the box allowing Rose to net for the fourth time leaving Beechwood to sweat it out for the final few minutes but they held on for what should have been a more decisive victory.
